Inshore – Sarasota Bay Fishing

Inshore fishing is good in Sarasota Bay and its only going to get better. Sheepshead are hot right now as the spawn is on. We are seeing good numbers of Trout in super shallow water during the outgoing tides. The Snook are lethargic but should start to pick up now that the cold weather is starting to break. Redfish are also starting to show up on the flats and we are starting to see better numbers of Pompano in the bay too. Black Drum are also starting to spawn. The time is now to book your next inshore fishing trip on Reel Addiction (that’s our beautiful inshore boat).

Offshore – Gulf of Mexico Waters

The Red Grouper are in pre-spawn in 115′-130′. Mangrove Snapper are starting to stack up in 110′ – 115′. Amberjack are plentiful on wrecks and springs in 80 – 200′. We are also pulling in African Pompano on deeper wrecks between 100′ – 150′. Can you say Triple Tail? We are looking forward to seeing Wahoo at the end of February around the full moon. As an added bonus, our Hog Snapper are getting ready for their spring spawn in 28′ – 50′ of water.
